Job Description

What it's like to work here

We’re for ever, for everyone and we really mean that. We don’t want to stop at 5.5 million members, and we want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, so we need to reach new audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them without losing the hearts and minds of those that are already with us.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you’re based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You’ll research and deliver content for national marketing, communications, and our magazine and publishing programmes. By interpreting briefs creatively, you’ll source the best imagery, ensuring deadlines are met. You’ll maximise the use of our image library, negotiate discounts for external content, and identify where new content needs to be commissioned.

You’ll help raise imaging standards across the organisation, sharing best practices and occasionally leading training workshops. By inspiring and educating internal teams, you’ll highlight the power of imagery to engage, educate, and inspire, helping us communicate more effectively and inclusively.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.

Who we're looking for

  • a proven track record of success in a similar role
  • an awareness of copyright legislation in relation to images, film and sound
  • an eye for photography and experience of working with brand guidelines,
  • ability to follow a brief
  • communication and organisational skills to manage projects through to completion
  • an understanding of marketing techniques with digital and social media skills
  • customer service skills with the ability to work on your own initiative to solve problems
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office

The package

The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.

• Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary

• Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
